Woman Found Dead in Burnsville Townhome; Suspect Arrested Following Domestic Disturbance Call

BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA – A woman was found dead with multiple stab wounds Wednesday morning following a domestic disturbance call in Burnsville. Police say a suspect has since been arrested, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

According to the Burnsville Police Department, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance around 9:35 a.m. on May 7 at a residence in the 2000 block of E 117th Street, located within the Cliff Hill Townhouses. When officers arrived, they found a 32-year-old woman deceased at the scene with multiple stab wounds. Her identity has not yet been released and will be made public by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to the Burnsville Police Department, Lakeville Police later apprehended the suspect in the Upper 167th Street West and Kenwood Trail area. Jail records show Jason Philip Filas was arrested and is being held on probable cause for second-degree murder.
