Bloomington Fire Contains 2nd-Alarm Roof Fire Near Mall of America

BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA—Fire crews from multiple departments responded early Friday morning, March 14, 2025, to a structure fire in Bloomington, Minnesota, just east of the Mall of America.
Fire crew were called out to the reported structure fire around 6:22 AM. According to the Bloomington Fire Department, the roof fire was located at a building in the 2600 block of Lindau Lane, near the Mall of America. Given the scale of the incident, a second alarm was issued, prompting assistance from the Richfield, Burnsville, Airport, and Edina fire departments.
According to the Bloomington Fire Department, the blaze was confined to the building’s roof. Crews worked efficiently to extinguish the flames, preventing further spread. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not released details on the extent of the damage.
This building was the second phase of a construction project for SICK, Inc, which was expanding its North American headquarters in Bloomington, MN. According to the City of Bloomington's website, it was a 144,000-square-foot, four-story office building on the northwest corner of Lindau Lane and Windstead Way. The building was set to open in late 2025.
