8-Year-Old Child Who Died From Burnsville Shooting Identified
BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the 8-year-old who passed away from complications from a gunshot wound to the head/neck on Sunday, June 9, 2024. This young man’s name is Amir Harden.
According to a GoFundMe set up by the family, Amir was tragically shot late in the evening on June 5th following a domestic incident in the family’s residence. While attempting to wrestle a gun from his father’s hands, Amir was struck by a bullet. Despite Amir’s mother telling him to go to the neighbor’s, Amir reportedly said, “Mommy, I’m not leaving you here.” According to Amir’s Mother, Cherish, the Father was attempting to shoot and kill her. She says Amir’s four siblings saw the entire tragic event unfold in front of them.
After accidentally shooting his son, the Father then reportedly turned the gun on himself. He currently remains at the Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition.
