Suspicious Package Reported Near Burnsville Fire Station #2, Prompts Evacuation

BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - Around 1:53 PM on Monday, January 29, 2024, a concerned community member reported a suspicious package to the Burnsville Fire Department, according to a press release from the City of Burnsville. The reported suspicious package was found outside Burnsville Fire Station #2 at 12155 Parkwood Drive in Burnsville, Minnesota. According to the press release, emergency officials evacuated a one-block radius around the fire station out of caution.

The bomb squad from the Bloomington Police Department was called to the scene to evaluate the device and situation. It was determined that the package did not pose a threat or hazard. The surrounding area was reopened just before 2:45 PM, with the evacuation order lasting around 50 minutes. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
