BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - A fire broke out at Chancellor Manor apartments in Burnsville on Thursday, November 14, 2024, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The incident occurred at approximately 12:25 PM, drawing resources from the Burnsville Fire Department, Eagan Fire Department, and Burnsville Police Department.

The fire originated on the stove in a two-story apartment unit and quickly spread to the kitchen cabinets. The unit was equipped with two Stove Top Fire Stops designed to suppress such incidents; however, their placement rendered them ineffective in fully controlling the blaze. Emergency crews arrived to find heavy smoke conditions and zero visibility within the apartment. Despite the challenging conditions, firefighters rapidly contained and extinguished the fire. Smoke and carbon monoxide were then ventilated from the apartment to ensure safety.

The fire displaced the three residents of the affected unit. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The unit has been deemed uninhabitable until necessary repairs can be made.
