The incident began at approximately 4:59 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, when officers were dispatched to a residence on the 1800 block of Covington Lane in Eagan, Minnesota, which is located near the intersection of Flora Drive and Covington Lane, after receiving a domestic assault report. The caller informed police that Bouchie-Maze had allegedly physically assaulted him and issued threats while armed with a knife. Officers arriving on the scene learned that Bouchie-Maze had fled from the house and was attempting to hide behind the residence in a wooded area.

Officers attempted to negotiate with Bouchie-Maze for more than two hours. Still, he refused to comply with their commands, repeatedly threatening to engage in physical altercations with the officers if they approached.

The standoff concluded around 7:37 p.m. when officers used a pepper ball gun to subdue the suspect. Following the non-lethal intervention, Bouchie-Maze surrendered immediately and was taken into custody without further incident. Bouchie-Maze was then transported to Dakota County Jail, where he now faces multiple charges, including felony 2nd-degree assault with a weapon and gross misdemeanor domestic assault. His first court appearance is on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 12 PM in Hastings, Minnesota.
