Single-Vehicle Crash on I-35E Leads to Vehicle Fire in Eagan

EAGAN, MINNESOTA – At approximately 5:55 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025, first responders from the Minnesota State Patrol, Eagan Fire Department, and Eagan Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle fire that was initially toned out for the area of I-35E and Lone Oak Road in Eagan, Minnesota, but was later updated to the area of I-35E and Highway 55.

According to initial reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, the vehicle had spun out on the roadway, striking the cable median barrier and a roadway sign before catching fire. Officials with the Minnesota State Patrol have confirmed that no injuries were reported concerning the crash, and no other vehicles were involved. The scene prompted a swift response from emergency crews to extinguish the fire and secure the area. There were traffic delays in both directions of I-35E in the area of this incident as the vehicle came to rest in the middle median.

Motorists are reminded to exercise caution during winter driving conditions, as slippery roads can lead to loss of control and accidents. Investigators are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash. Any update will be provided as additional information becomes available.
