Five-Vehicle Crash on I-35E in Burnsville Causes Delays, Minor Injuries

BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA – A multi-vehicle crash on southbound I-35E near County Road 42 caused significant traffic delays Friday afternoon. The incident, which occurred just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, involved five vehicles - one a semi-truck- in an accordion-style, front-to-rear collision.

Minnesota State Troopers, Burnsville Police, and Burnsville Fire Department responded to the scene, where two drivers sustained minor injuries. Authorities quickly diverted traffic onto County Road 42 as emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage. The highway was reopened around 5:20 p.m. after the vehicles were removed and the roadway was deemed safe for travel.

The circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation, and officials have not yet determined what played a role in the incident.
