Vehicle Crashes Through Gent Cuts and Grooming in Eagan

EAGAN, MINNESOTA - Around 12:45 PM and 12:47 PM, the Eagan Fire Department was dispatched to two separate accidents. The first accident was a three-vehicle crash at Yankee Doodle Road and Denmark Avenue intersection in Eagan, Minnesota. A single minor injury was reported as a result of this accident.

The second accident was for a report of a vehicle that went through a building, with structural damage being reported. The business was Gent Cuts and Grooming, located in the Central Park Commons at 3365 Central Park Village Dr #120 in Eagan, Minnesota.

According to the Eagan Police Department, a black Chevy Avalanche drove through the side of the Gents Cuts and Grooming building after the driver, a 78-year-old gentleman, reported that his foot slipped off the brake and accidentally hit the gas. Witnesses confirmed this story, and no charges or citations were given to the gentleman. The driver was the vehicle's only occupant, and they didn't report any injuries.

The Eagan Police Officer and Gloria Hole, the HR Manager from Gent Cuts and Grooming, confirmed no customers or staff were injured inside the business due to the accident. Ms. Hole stated that just before the vehicle came through the window on the side of the building, one of the stylists had just finished with a client at the spot nearest to the window. That stylist had just gone into the back for their lunch break when the car came through and destroyed the workstation she was just at moments before. The cost of damages to the building was not known at the time of writing this article. Still, the two side windows and frame will need to be replaced, and a wall in the middle of the building will need to be replaced as the force of the vehicle coming into the building shifted the entire wall several inches.

Ms. Hole confirmed the business would be closed the rest of today, Wednesday, November 8th, as the broken windows are boarded up, and the inside was cleaned from the broken glass and debris. They hope to be open once again tomorrow, Thursday, November 9th.
