Two-Vehicle Crash on I-35 in Lakeville Causes Traffic Delays; One Injured
UPDATED - 3:20 PM on April 29, 2025: Minnesota State Patrol has confirmed for us that a Blaze Justis Klose-Robins has been cited for reckless driving in connection with this crash. State Patrol says they are unable to provide any additional information in the driving behavior or actions of the driver, as the investigation remains open at this time.
LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA—A two-vehicle crash along I-35 in Lakeville led to major traffic delays Friday afternoon, after a Toyota Tundra collided with an Amazon delivery truck, sending both vehicles into the center concrete median.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred just after 2:25 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, in the northbound lanes of I-35, just south of 162nd Street. The Toyota, driven by a 20-year-old man from St. Cloud, struck the Amazon truck under unclear circumstances, prompting an emergency response from multiple agencies.
The driver of the Toyota sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. No other injuries were reported at the scene.
The crash caused significant backups in both directions of I-35, with surrounding roads also impacted. Crews worked quickly to clear the scene, and traffic began flowing more freely again by around 3:15 p.m.
Responding agencies included the Minnesota State Patrol, Lakeville Police, Burnsville Fire, Lakeville Fire, and Allina Health EMS. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
