Provided by Dakota County Jail.

LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA—Lakeville Police have confirmed the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a recent bank robbery in Iowa after they were dispatched to a local motel on Saturday morning, September 7th, 2024. Kevin Seay, 27, was taken into custody around 11:45 AM by Lakeville Police at Motel 6 on an outstanding warrant related to a September 6th bank robbery in Carlisle, Iowa.

According to law enforcement officials, Seay is suspected of robbing the First Interstate Bank located on First Street in Carlisle at around 12:29 p.m. Friday afternoon. Investigators say Seay entered the bank, handed a teller a note demanding money, and indicated that he was armed with a handgun. Authorities had warned that Seay was considered armed and dangerous following the incident.

Seay is now being held at the Dakota County Jail on felony probable cause charges as a fugitive from another state, in addition to facing a first-degree burglary charge in connection to the Carlisle bank robbery.

The investigation into the robbery remains ongoing as police coordinate with Iowa law enforcement to bring Seay back to face charges. We will provide further updates as more information is released.
