LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA — Following an investigation, court documents from the Dakota County Attorney’s office show authorities have arrested two individuals in connection with a November 2024 burglary in Lakeville that resulted in the theft of a vehicle and fraudulent use of stolen credit cards. The Dakota County Attorney’s Office has charged Cardle Lee Brown-Jones, 23, of Coon Rapids, and Joven Devon Louis Wallace, 23, of Maplewood, with multiple felony offenses, including first-degree burglary and motor vehicle theft.
Case Background
According to the criminal complaints from the Dakota County Attorney’s Office, the burglary occurred on November 21, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., when the suspects allegedly targeted a residential home in Lakeville. According to court records, Brown-Jones and Wallace entered the property by opening a side door leading to the attached garage. Once inside, they located a Toyota Highlander, which they would later steal.
Court documents state that after gaining entry through the garage, the suspects allegedly proceeded into the main living quarters of the home. While inside, they took wallets, credit cards, electronic devices, and other valuables. Investigators believe the homeowners were asleep at the time of the break-in. Security footage from a neighboring residence captured two masked individuals fleeing the property on foot before returning to a stolen Chevrolet Silverado, which was later linked to another auto theft in Elko New Market, MN, on November 21, 2024. Court records state that security cameras from neighboring residences showed the two suspects allegedly attempting to break into other homes. While canvassing the neighborhood, they learned of another vehicle that was broken into that night, where a garage door opener and checkbook were allegedly stolen.
Shortly after the burglary, Brown-Jones and Wallace allegedly attempted to use the stolen credit cards at Walmart and Target stores in Roseville and Plymouth. Surveillance footage from the Target location in Plymouth captured them attempting to purchase high-value electronics. However, multiple transaction attempts were declined due to fraud alerts on the stolen cards.
Due to the fresh snow on the ground, investigators used a drone to survey footprints in the snow that tracked from the garage to the street, where the Silverado was parked. The stolen Silverado was later recovered in a Minneapolis parking lot, and the Toyota was also recovered in Minneapolis. Forensic teams recovered DNA evidence and digital records, including cell phone location data from the vehicles, which allegedly tied both suspects to the burglary and subsequent vehicle theft.
Arrests and Charges
Cardle Lee Brown-Jones Arrested in Anoka County
On February 3, 2025, court records show a warrant was issued for Brown-Jones, who was arrested two days later in Anoka County. He faces the following charges:

Brown-Jones, a convicted felon with a history of residential burglaries, according to court records, had prior offenses dating back to 2021, including multiple first-degree burglary convictions.
Court records show that investigators linked Brown-Jones to the crime through forensic evidence and digital records, including an alleged Facebook account under the name “Munnagang King”, which was used to list PlayStations and Xbox consoles for sale—items purchased with stolen credit cards. His phone was also connected to the Toyota’s infotainment system, placing him at the crime scene, court documents state.

Additional forensic analysis allegedly linked Wallace to the stolen Chevrolet Silverado, which was used in the Lakeville burglary and also reported stolen from Elko New Market, MN.
Investigation and Forensic Evidence
According to court records, authorities gathered substantial forensic and digital evidence tying both suspects to the crime. Investigators used:
Drone surveillance to track footprints leading from the crime scene to a stolen Chevrolet Silverado.
DNA swabs from the stolen vehicles and the burglarized home.
Digital forensic analysis of Brown-Jones’s phone, which contained Uber and Apple Maps location data placing him near the crime scene.
Surveillance footage showing the suspects attempting additional break-ins.
Public Safety Concerns, Legal Proceedings, and Next Steps
The Dakota County Attorney’s Office is pursuing aggravated sentencing for Brown-Jones due to his repeat offender status, categorizing him as a dangerous offender under Minnesota law.
