Large 3rd alarm fire in Welch, Minnesota - May 16, 2022
A structure fire is ongoing in the 18200 block of 207th St E in Welch, Minnesota. What started as a house fire quickly spread to a grass fire and was upgraded from 2nd alarm to a 3rd alarm. Command on the scene is requesting as many tenders as possible from surrounding departments as they do not have a sufficient supply of water. Several spot fires were being reported in the area from Command. Crews are changing from an offensive attack on the structure fire to a defense one.
Several crews from across the region are sending tenders and personnel to help with this fire. At this time Hasting Fire, Rosemoun Fire, Inver Grove Heights Fire, and Miesville Fire are all assisting with this fire. Details are limited at this time as this is still a developing story.
