Eagan Police Investigate Sexual Assaults at Lebanon Hills Regional Park, Increase Patrols

EAGAN, MINNESOTA —The Eagan Police Department, in partnership with the Dakota County Sheriff's Office, is investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred at Lebanon Hills Regional Park on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at around 11:00 AM. According to the press release from the Eagan Police Department, the female victim was walking alone on the park’s trails when she was attacked.

This recent incident follows a similar attack in the park near the same area on September 7, 2024, at approximately 4:30 PM. In that case, the victim was able to escape the suspect's grasp and seek help. Police have noted that the suspect’s description remains limited in both cases, making it challenging to identify a suspect at this time.

As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities are urging the public to take extra precautions when using the Lebanon Trail system. The Eagan Police Department is advising individuals to walk in pairs or groups, and stay aware of their surroundings. They also emphasize the importance of immediately reporting any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

To address community safety, both the Eagan Police Department and the Dakota County Sheriff's Office have increased patrol activity in Lebanon Hills Regional Park. However, due to the ongoing investigations, additional details are unavailable.
