ORIGINAL STORY - EAGAN, MINNESOTA: Officials with the Eagan Police Department have confirmed they are investigating a missing person case connected to a two-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning. The missing individual has been identified as Garrett Baldwin Koppelmann.

According to the Eagan Police Department, officers responded to a head-on collision near the intersection of Blackhawk Road and Trailway Drive at approximately 1:04 a.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2025. The crash involved a Dodge Dart and a Honda Civic. While the driver of the Dodge Dart remained at the scene, the driver of the Honda Civic had fled before officers’ arrival. Police attempted to contact the registered owner of the Civic but were unsuccessful, and the driver was not located.

Later that evening, at around 9:32 p.m., officers received a missing person report from the 1800 block of Trailway Drive. The missing individual was confirmed to be Koppelmann, the registered owner of the Honda Civic involved in the crash. His family has expressed deep concern over his disappearance, noting that he left behind his phone and wallet in the vehicle.

Koppelmann, who had recently moved into a new apartment, according to the family, has not been seen since the accident. Family members report that he did not show up for work, which is highly unusual for him. A walkthrough of his apartment revealed nothing unusual except for an unopened DoorDash order.

Authorities continue to search for Koppelmann and urge anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Eagan Police Department at 651-675-5700 or dial 911. His family remains anxious for his safe return as the investigation unfolds.
