Rosemount Emergency Personnel Respond to Two Injury Crashes Saturday Morning

ROSEMOUNT, MINNESOTA – Rosemount emergency personnel were busy Saturday morning as they responded to two separate injury crashes that disrupted traffic and led to injuries in Rosemount. At this time, the Minnesota State Patrol has taken over the investigation of one of the incidents and is assisting with the investigation of the second.

Crash #1: Multi-Vehicle Incident on Highway 3

The first crash occurred at approximately 6:48 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Robert Trail (Highway 3) intersection and 130th Street West. Emergency personnel arrived to find a multi-vehicle injury crash that blocked the entire roadway. As a result, the northbound Robert Trail was closed at Bonaire Path West (132nd Street West), and the southbound Robert Trail was closed at McAndrews Road.

According to Rosemount officials, the incident involved three consecutive collisions and four vehicles, each driven by a solo driver. One individual was transported for medical treatment and further evaluation. Fortunately, all reported injuries were non-life-threatening.

Crews worked swiftly to clear the scene, and the roadway was reopened to traffic by 7:52 AM. The Minnesota State Patrol is leading the investigation into the events that led to the crash.

Crash #2: Serious Collision on County Road 42

Later in the morning, at approximately 11:55 AM, a serious two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of 150th Street (County Road 42) and Canada Avenue. According to Rosemount officials, a vehicle traveling westbound on County Road 42 attempted to make a left turn onto Canada Avenue and collided with a vehicle heading eastbound on County Road 42. The crash resulted in significant injuries for the driver of the vehicle heading westbound on County Road 42, who was reported to be unresponsive when emergency personnel arrived. That driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported by ambulance to the hospital with significant injuries. The other driver sustained minor injuries and was not transported.

In response to the crash, eastbound County Road 42 was closed at Chippendale Avenue, and Canada Avenue was closed at the McDonald’s driveway. The Minnesota State Patrol’s accident reconstruction team was called to assist with the investigation. The roads were reopened around 1:30 PM.
