The northbound lanes of Lexington Avenue leading to Highway 55 were closed, as was the eastbound lanes of Highway 55 at Lexington Avenue, while the authorities investigated the crash.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Lincoln MKX traveled eastbound on Highway 55 while the Volkswagen Jetta was westbound on Highway 55.
