Update on the Shooting Incident at the Eagan Town Centre Taco Bell

UPDATE - September 30th, 11:20 AM: New details have emerged regarding the early morning shooting that occurred near the Taco Bell on Town Centre Drive in Eagan, Minnesota. Eagan Police officers were dispatched to the area around 3:33 a.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, after receiving reports of gunfire following a dispute in the parking lot.

Officers met with the victims at another location in Eagan; that location ended up being in the 2000 block of Cliff Road or in the vicinity of Leeann Chin. Here Eagan Police and Eagan Fire confirmed that an adult male sustained a minor injury consistent with the shooting. The victim was treated by medics on the scene for minor injuries and has since been cleared.

Since our initial story was posted, Eagan Police have identified suspects involved in the altercation. Authorities confirmed that the shooting stemmed from a dispute and was not a random act of violence, further confirming there is no ongoing threat for public safety. Due to the still active investigation, the names of those involved have not been released.

ORIGINAL STORY - EAGAN, MINNESOTA— Early Sunday morning, September 29, 2024, an altercation occurred at a Taco Bell on Town Center Drive in Eagan, Minnesota, that escalated into gunfire, according to the Eagan Police Department. The incident occurred between 3:30-4 AM, and authorities say that shots were fired during the confrontation.

The victim, who was reportedly shot in the shoulder and whose identity has not been released, fled the scene where the shooting occurred at the Taco Bell on Town Centre Drive and stopped to seek medical assistance in the 2000 block of Cliff Road in the vicinity of Leeann Chin around 3:55 a.m. in Eagan, Minnesota. Eagan Police and Eagan Fire were called to Leeann Chin to provide medical aid to the victim. They were there for a brief time, as the victim reportedly sustained minor shoulder injuries and was treated at the scene. No further details on the victim's condition were made available.

The Eagan Police Department has confirmed that no arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is ongoing. Despite no arrests being made yet, the Eagan Police assured us that this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to community safety.
