Fire Investigation at an Apartment in Waukesha, WI

WAUKESHA, WISCONSIN - Around 3:17 PM on Friday, September 13, 2024, the Waukesha Fire Department received a 911 call about a possible structure fire in the 2600 block of Pebble Valley Road in Waukesha, Wisconsin with black smoke showing in a second floor window. The first fire unit arrived on the scene around 5 minutes later and confirmed light smoke showing from the second-floor window.
A total of thirteen fire units responded to this fire, including five ambulances, two ladder trucks, three engines, a battalion, and two fire chiefs. Additionally, five Waukesha squads also responded to the fire. Waukesha Fire crews spotted the potential source of the smoke from inside the building on the second floor. Upon finding the source of the smoke the fire seemed to have “burned itself out”. Waukesha Fire crews were able to get the fire under control and searched the building by 3:29 PM. Following the search, it was determined everyone got out of the building safely. Two firefighters reportedly needed to be checked by medical on the scene.
Fire crews remained on the fire scene as they continued to check for hot spots, and performed any additional mop-up as needed. All fire crews were cleared from the fire scene by around 5:44 PM.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and fire & police investigators were brought in to determine the cause of the fire.
