TWIN CITIES, MINNESOTA: The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING in effect from MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT CST THURSDAY NIGHT.

A winter storm is forecast to bring widespread accumulating snow to the region Wednesday night through Thursday. A band of 4-7 inches of snow is expected to fall from western Minnesota to central Minnesota into west-central Wisconsin. Lesser snowfall amounts will occur to the south and west of the band. Strong winds will also cause blowing snow and potentially reduced visibilities, especially across western and southwestern Minnesota.

* WHAT: Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 7 inches.

* WHERE: Portions of central, east-central, and west-central Minnesota.

* WHEN: From midnight tonight to midnight CST Thursday Night.

* IMPACTS: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.
