TWIN CITIES, MINNESOTA: The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the entire Twin Cities Metro from 12 AM to 6 PM CST on Saturday, December 14, 2024. More details below.
According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, tonight, light precipitation will move into southern Minnesota and spread into central and eastern MN by sunrise Saturday. A mix of snow and sleet is expected initially, but it will transition to a mix of freezing rain and snow through Saturday morning. This has prompted them to issue a Winter Weather Advisory for Saturday. The combination of light ice and snow accumulations may impact travel. This advisory covers locations along and south of a line from Redwood Falls to the Twin Cities metro, along with St. Croix and Pierce counties in Wisconsin.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 6 PM CST SATURDAY
* WHAT: Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations up to one inch, sleet accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch, and ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch.
* WHERE: Portions of central, east-central, south-central, and southeast Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin.
* WHEN: From midnight tonight to 6 PM CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS: Plan on slippery road conditions.
