Armed Robbery at Hennepin Technical College Leads to Lock Down: Suspect Arrested

BROOKLYN PARK, MINNESOTA - Around 12:31 PM on Tuesday, January 30th, officers with the Brooklyn Park Police Department were dispatched to the Hennepin Technical College, located at 9000 Brooklyn Blvd, for a reported armed robbery that occurred outside on the campus before the suspect then fled into the school according to a press release.

The suspect of the armed robbery was believed to be armed with a handgun. Officers and school officials worked together to lock down the campus. The suspect was eventually found hiding in a restroom and was taken into custody without incident.

Once it was determined there was no longer a threat, an all-clear was given, and regular activities at the school resumed. Police report no one was injured as a result of this incident. The suspect was booked at the Brooklyn Park Police Department for aggravated theft.
