Man Arrested For Warrant, Receives Additional Felony Charges for Meth Possession

EAGAN, MINNESOTA - Back on October 18, 2023, at around 1:40 AM, an officer with the Eagan Police Department was on routine patrol when they saw a vehicle in the parking lot of a gas station located on the 4600 block of Slater Road. The police officer ran the plates on the car and discovered it was registered to Timothy Bacon, who had a warrant out for his arrest.

After observing the vehicle for a few minutes, the officer approached the vehicle and saw a person in the driver's seat, who they later identified as Bacon. The officer placed Bacon under arrest for his warrant and then searched him. While searching him, the officer found a baggie in his pocket that contained an unknown substance. The substance inside the baggie tested positive for methamphetamine, a Schedule 2 controlled substance with a weight of about 1.58 grams.

During his arrest and subsequent statement, Bacon made additional incriminating statements about the substance found in his front pocket.

Bacon was charged with Felony possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, which comes with a 0 to 5-year sentence and/or a fine of $3,000.00 to $10,000.00.
