ORIGINAL STORY - BROOKLYN PARK, MINNESOTA - A small plane crashed into a home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, on Saturday afternoon, killing all those onboard. Officials confirmed that no one inside the house or on the ground was injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that the crash occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. near the intersection of 109th Avenue North and Noble Parkway. The aircraft, a Socata TBM 700 (pictured below), had departed Des Moines International Airport in Iowa and was en route to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when it went down.

Brooklyn Park Fire Chief Shawn Conway reported that there were no survivors among the aircraft's occupants. Authorities have not released the number of people on the plane at the time of the crash. The Fire Chief also reported that everyone in the home made it out safely despite emergency personnel arriving at the scene with a home that was fully engulfed in flames. The cause of the crash remains unclear at this time.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced that an investigative team was on its way to Brooklyn Park and was expected to arrive Sunday. Investigators will work to process and document the wreckage. The FAA will also be investigating the incident.

Previous Plane Crashes in Brooklyn Park

According to the NTSB, the last reported plane crash in Brooklyn Park occurred on March 16, 1986. In that incident, a Cessna 152 piloted by a solo student pilot experienced a "re-flaring" while attempting to land. The pilot tried to execute a go-around maneuver, but the aircraft’s left wheel struck a snowbank at the edge of the runway, causing the plane to tip forward and land on its nose in the snow. No injuries were reported in that crash.

In November of 2023, a small plane reportedly made an emergency landing on Brooklyn Road, County Road 81 near West Broadway, in Brooklyn Park after authorities said the plane lost power. The plane had taken off from Crystal Airport. Reportedly, while the plane was coming in for the landing, it struck a power line and collided with a vehicle. Both the pilot and the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Neighbors and residents in the Brooklyn Park community have expressed their shock at this incident in their backyards. As investigators determine the cause, local authorities urge residents to avoid the area while emergency crews and federal investigators continue their operations.
