EAGAN, MINNESOTA—A pedestrian was injured in Eagan Monday evening following a traffic incident involving two vehicles and a person. According to the Eagan Police Department, the accident occurred around 4:44 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Pilot Knob Road at Wilderness Run Road.
According to officials with the Eagan Police Department, two vehicles were traveling northbound on Pilot Knob Road when a 79-year-old man attempted to cross the street just south of Wilderness Run Road. One driver swerved to avoid hitting the pedestrian while the other vehicle braked but could not stop in time, ultimately striking the pedestrian.
The pedestrian sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by MHealth medics before being transported to Regions Hospital for further evaluation. No citations were issued in connection with the incident. The Eagan Police, Eagan Fire, and MHealth medics all responded to the accident.
With the time change, drivers need to be extra vigilant during their morning and evening commutes, as it is getting darker. Reduced visibility during these hours can increase the risk of accidents involving pedestrians. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, slow down, and remain alert, especially in areas where people may be crossing the road.
