High-Risk Traffic Stop on I-35E in Eagan Linked to Hopkins Shooting Investigation
EAGAN, MINNESOTA— Authorities conducted a high-risk traffic stop late Tuesday morning on northbound I-35E in Eagan, an incident now linked to an ongoing shooting investigation in Hopkins, Minnesota.
According to the Eagan Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle under Northwood Parkway at approximately 11:50 a.m. Hopkins authorities had flagged the vehicle, prompting Eagan officers to take action when they located it in their jurisdiction. One individual was detained at the scene, and both the person and the vehicle were subsequently transferred to the Hopkins Police Department.
Hopkins Police later confirmed that the individual and vehicle had been in the vicinity of a shots-fired incident in the City of Hopkins.
