Heart of the City Race Returns to Burnsville on September 7, 2024

BURNSVILLE, MN—The much-anticipated Heart of the City Race is set to return on Saturday, September 7, 2024. This annual event, held in conjunction with the Burnsville Festival and Fire Muster, features a 5K, 10K, and 15K races.

The Heart of the City Race is not just about competition but community and remembrance. Each year, hundreds of participants join as individuals or teams to honor the memory of lost loved ones. The race, organized by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, aims to address hunger issues by benefiting the Kids Feeding Kids program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities.

Participants can register online at www.hotcrace.org and take advantage of a $5 discount by signing up before August 31. The certified courses will take runners through Burnsville's scenic residential streets and the beautiful Heart of the City area.

The race day schedule is as follows:

  • 15K Run: 7:45 a.m.

  • 10K Run: 7:55 a.m.

  • 5K Run/Walk: 8:05 a.m.

  • Kids Fun Run: 9:15 a.m.

  • Race Awards: 9:45 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners in each race, with each top-placed runner receiving a cash prize. Additionally, all participants will have two raffle tickets on their bibs for a chance to win incredible raffle prizes. Raffle drawings will be held after the races, and winners must be present to claim their prizes.
