House Struck by Lightning in Cottage Grove, Minnesota

COTTAGE GROVE, MINNESOTA—According to Cottage Grove, Minnesota Public Safety, a house was struck by lightning at around 6:02 PM on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, as a line of strong to severe storms worked across the Twin Cities Metro.

Cottage Grove Officials say the homeowner was home and was not injured, and the fire was quickly extinguished. The structure fire was reported on the 6500 Block of Clover Circle. Cottage Grove Officials say Newport, Saint Paul Park, Woodbury, Lake Elmo, and Hastings Fire Departments assisted with mutual aid. M Health EMS was also on the scene to assist.
