MPD Activates Crime Pattern Response Protocol After String of Violent Crimes
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - The Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) has launched its Crime Pattern Response Protocol following a series of six violent incidents that occurred early Tuesday morning, February 11, 2025. Authorities are currently searching for at least three suspects believed to be involved in these crimes, which included two shootings, multiple burglaries, a carjacking, and a shots-fired incident.
Between 5:00 a.m. and 6:50 a.m., MPD officers responded to six separate incidents, each involving three to four male suspects traveling in a white sedan. The Crime Pattern Response Protocol (formerly known as the Robbery Pattern Response Protocol) was activated at 5:41 a.m. to allocate additional resources toward identifying and apprehending the suspects. Officers from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the Metro Transit Police Department also provided support in the search.
MPD officials have confirmed that the white sedan used by the suspects has been recovered. However, no arrests have been made at this time.
Details of the Incidents:
Incident 1: Burglary - Shooting

Time: 5:04 a.m.
Location: 4100 Block of 25th Ave S
A 54-year-old man suffered a potentially life-threatening gunshot wound while inside his home. Preliminary reports indicate that three male suspects broke into a garage, each carrying a firearm. As they fled, one suspect fired a shot toward a residence, striking the victim as he looked out an upstairs window. Additional reports of forced garage entries in the area were also noted.
Incident 2: Carjacking at Gunpoint

Time: 5:16 a.m.
Location: 5100 Block of 34th Ave S
A 29-year-old man was carjacked at gunpoint by four male suspects arriving in a white sedan. One suspect brandished a firearm and stole the victim’s gray Mazda SUV. The suspects fled in both the stolen SUV and the white sedan. Officers have since recovered the stolen vehicle.
Incident 3: Burglary of Dwelling

Time: 5:32 a.m.
Location: 4026 26th Ave S
Officers responded to reports of a burglary where a garage door had been forced open. Witnesses indicated that three to four male suspects arrived in a white sedan, and at least one was armed. No items have been reported stolen, though other garages in the area showed signs of forced entry.
Incident 4: Aggravated Robbery - Shooting

Time: 5:41 a.m.
Location: 2100 Block of Lake St E
A 25-year-old man was found with a potentially life-threatening gunshot wound inside a residence on Lake Street. He reported being shot during a robbery near the 2300 block of 32nd St E. The robbery involved three armed male suspects in a white sedan. MPD initiated the Crime Pattern Response Protocol following this incident.
Incident 5: Burglary of Dwelling

Time: 6:17 a.m.
Location: 4915 31st Ave S
A garage door was forcibly opened, and a vehicle inside had a smashed window. Officers confirmed that the suspects matched descriptions from previous incidents. The resident of the home was unharmed, and no reported losses have been identified.
Incident 6: Shots Fired
Incident Number: 25-034544
Time: 6:49 a.m.
Location: 4908 32nd Ave S
Witnesses reported that individuals exited a white sedan parked in an alley and discharged firearms. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
Search for Suspects
MPD is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for these violent crimes. Authorities have released descriptions of three suspects:
Suspect 1: Male, wearing a black jacket over a white shirt, blue or black jeans, shoes, and gloves.
Suspect 2: Male, wearing a blue hoodie or jacket over a white shirt, black jeans with rips or a white pattern on the shins and knees, white Nike shoes, and a black winter cap.
Suspect 3: Male, wearing a black mask, black hoodie or jacket over a white shirt, black or dark gray jeans, white gloves, and black shoes.

Chief O’Hara’s Statement
MPD Chief Brian O’Hara condemned the suspects’ actions and urged the public to provide any information.
“The brazen violence committed by these individuals cannot be tolerated by anyone in our city,” Chief O’Hara stated. “Anyone who knows these individuals is asked to immediately provide that information through our tip lines or through CrimeStoppers. Together, we can all work to see that these individuals are caught.”
