Several Area Fire Departments Respond to Third-Alarm Fire in Burnsville, Cause Under Investigation

BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - A third-alarm fire broke out early Saturday morning, February 8, 2025, at a residence on 13000 Oakland Drive in Burnsville. Fire crews from multiple departments responded to the call at 3:23 AM, with emergency personnel discovering a working structure fire upon arrival.

According to reports, the fire is believed to have started on the deck before spreading to the back of the house, but the overall cause is still under investigation. The first fire units confirmed a working fire around 3:30 AM and requested an upgrade to a second-alarm response by 3:33 AM. Crews worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, marking the fire as out by 3:55 AM. However, by approximately 4:00 AM, officials requested a third-alarm response to ensure adequate resources were on the scene as an extension of fire was found in the attic.

Fire departments from Eagan, Apple Valley, Lakeville, Savage, and the Mdewakanton Fire Department assisted the Burnsville Fire Department. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the home sustained significant damage and is currently uninhabitable.

As we mentioned earlier, the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
