No Injuries Reported Following Second-Alarm Fire in Burnsville

BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - A second-alarm fire broke out Friday afternoon, January 24, 2025, on the 14000 block of Southpointe Curve in Burnsville. The incident occurred shortly after 2:30 PM. Initial scanner reports mentioned that a vehicle might have been on fire in the garage and spread to the rest of the home.

According to Burnsville officials, the Burnsville Fire Department was assisted by the Eagan, Apple Valley, Lakeville, and Savage Fire Departments. Allina EMS was also on the scene, ready to provide medical support if needed, though no injuries were reported. The Burnsville Police Department deployed drones with thermal imaging technology to inspect the roof structure and ensure safety. This advanced technology helped firefighters identify potential hotspots and prevent further damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released additional details about the extent of the damage or any potential disruptions caused by the incident. Burnsville public works were also called to the scene to spread salt as water from the firefighting efforts had started to result in icy conditions in the surrounding area.

This is a developing story; updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Burnsville Center Reported Structure Fire

Around 20 minutes after the fire on Southpointe Curve was reported, Dakota County 911 Dispatch received a report of smoke coming from Burnsville Center. Since the Burnsville Fire Department was busy with the second-alarm fire on Southpointe Curve, mutual aid was called in from Lakeville Fire, Savage Fire, and Bloomington Fire.

Crews arrived at the scene and determined that this call was unfounded, and all units were cleared.
