Police Pursuit Ends in With Crash and Arrests in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA—A police pursuit along westbound I-94 near Cretin Avenue in St Paul, Minnesota, on January 22, 2025, ended with the arrest of two individuals after their vehicle collided with cars and crashed into a fence in Minneapolis, Minnesota, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The incident began just before 4:20 p.m., when a State Trooper attempted to stop a vehicle in the area. Instead of pulling over, the driver failed to yield, initiating a pursuit that continued along the interstate. During the chase, the suspect vehicle struck multiple vehicles, including a State Patrol squad car.

The pursuit eventually came to an end when the suspect vehicle took the exit ramp from I-94 westbound at Riverside Avenue, hit a car waiting at the light, and crashed into a fence on the Riverside Avenue exit. Both occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot. The State Trooper quickly apprehended one suspect, and the second was eventually found and arrested without further incident a few minutes later.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the collisions. However, the male driver of the suspect vehicle is being evaluated at a local hospital for an unrelated potential injury.

The Minnesota State Patrol confirmed that the investigation into the incident remains open and active. Additional details regarding charges or the suspects' identities have not been released.
