Four-Vehicle Crash in Eagan That Temporarily Closed Southbound Highway 77 is Under Investigation

EAGAN, MINNESOTA - According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a four-vehicle crash occurred Tuesday afternoon in Eagan, prompting a response from multiple emergency agencies. The incident occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. on southbound Highway 77 (Cedar Avenue) underneath the bridge for Highway 13.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened when a truck being towed became separated from the tow truck. The detached truck then collided with three other vehicles in the vicinity. Authorities reported one possible minor injury to a driver involved in the crash. Otherwise, no other injuries were reported. The crash caused southbound Highway 77 to be closed briefly at the Highway 13 interchange while crews worked to investigate and clear the vehicles. Traffic on southbound Highway 77 was being diverted onto westbound Highway 13. Significant traffic delays were being reported back to I-494 in Bloomington, Minneosta.

State Patrol reports the road was closed for about an hour while crews worked to investigate and clear the crash.

Emergency personnel from Eagan Fire, Eagan Police, Burnsville Medics, and the Minnesota State Patrol were called.

Officials have stated that the crash remains under active investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.
